Letters to God Brings Changes to the Life of One Young Woman

We have heard many stories of how Letters to God has brought hope to people. We thought we would share Lesli’s story with you.
I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 13. I went through chemo and radiation at Children’s Hospital in
Seattle, which is where I live. In June 2008 I had my first seizure. I fractured my skull behind my eye-socket because of falling during the seizure, and required a couple months of physical therapy. I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the plasma cells.) It is treatable, although it is incurable.
I am not a religious person, and I wasn't raised in a religious home. I would probably classify myself as agnostic. To be honest with you, I never gave religion much thought.
I went with my mom to see Letters To God on Saturday, and it was probably the most cleansing experience of my life. I had tears in my eyes for 95% of the movie. Tyler's life gave me hope in a time of pure darkness. It was absolutely beautiful.
I did not sleep on Saturday night after viewing the film because I had a great deal of emotion and thought to digest. It was surreal. On Sunday I created a treasure chest (similar to Tyler's) with pictures and memorabilia that I titled "Pineapple's Letters of Hope." Pineapple, is the name campers know me by at Camp Goodtimes. It's a private box, but I let my mom know where it is, when/if something should ever happen to me; I want her to have it.
Thank you again for touching my life in more ways than you can ever imagine; I don't think I can even put it into words. I am forever changed. Tyler gave me hope, and I will live the rest of my life like he did; a warrior.
